Logic Slap

Here’s Why This Goofy Little App is a Mission for the Kingdom of Heaven

As some of you may know, I have been developing an app called “Logic Slap.” Several of my regular readers have been helping out as beta testers, and others are eagerly awaiting its full release. But most are probably wondering why I would spend my time and money developing such a thing. In this short piece, I’d like to explain this app; what it does, how to use it, and why it is a kingdom-focused app with the underlying mission to be salt and light to the world.

Logic as Evangelism

It is not merely my belief… it is my observation that the dominant force driving today’s intense political polarization and the relentless culture war, where people seem perpetually at one another’s throats online and off, is the widespread abandonment of logic in both public discourse and private thinking. We no longer systematically teach logic or logical fallacies in schools. We no longer consider logical premises leading to a conclusion, but work backward from a desired conclusion. As a result, most people neither recognize flawed reasoning nor consistently apply sound principles in arguments or everyday decisions. This is not just an educational oversight. It is a cultural regression that amplifies emotional reactivity and tribal echo chambers. It turns debates into shouting matches and nuance into heresy.

Evidence of this decline is clear. For much of history, logic was a cornerstone of education. It formed part of the classical trivium of grammar, logic, and rhetoric. It was a required subject in universities and even in earlier schooling. In early America, figures like Benjamin Franklin authored logic primers, and it was woven into curricula as essential for reasoned citizenship. Yet over the twentieth century, progressive reforms, shifts toward practical vocational training, and the sidelining of liberal arts gutted dedicated logic courses. Today, logic is rarely taught as a standalone subject. At best, it is touched on fleetingly in math, writing, or critical thinking units that often prioritize feelings or ideology over rigorous reasoning. Initiatives like Stanford’s efforts to revive symbolic logic in high schools highlight the gap, as do calls from educators and organizations noting that logic literacy among adults is dropping precisely when it is needed most. Without training in identifying fallacies such as ad hominem attacks, strawman arguments, false dichotomies, or appeals to emotion, people default to gut reactions, confirmation bias, and outrage. This fuels the endless online vitriol and societal fractures we see daily. This departure edges society toward the dystopian caricature in Mike Judge’s Idiocracy from 2006, where anti-intellectualism, consumerism, spectacle driven politics, and collective intellectual laziness produce a world of polarized dysfunction and diminished capacity for rational problem solving. The film’s satire, once dismissed as exaggeration, now feels prophetic. Rampant misinformation, emotion over reason discourse, and a culture celebrating mediocrity mirror our own era of echo-chamber algorithms, soundbite politics, and declining emphasis on evidence-based thinking. Polarization is not just ideological. It is epistemological, a breakdown in shared tools for evaluating truth claims.

From a Christian perspective, this is not merely an academic or civic loss. It is profoundly spiritual. Logic reflects the divine order embedded in creation itself. The Gospel of John opens with “In the beginning was the Logos,” where Logos means not just “word,” but divine reason, wisdom, and rational structure, the very mind and ordering principle of God. God spoke the universe into being through coherent, logical expression. Creation bears His rational fingerprint, from the laws of physics to moral order. The God who is Truth is inherently logical, and human reason, when aligned with His, participates in that divine rationality. The Adversary’s primary work is to destroy and unravel whatever the divine Logic (Logos) has built; with His little representatives (humans) the primary target. Thus, rejecting or neglecting logic is not neutral. It is a rebellion against the created order, opening the door to chaos, deception, and the adversary’s work to unravel what God has established. In an age of spiritual warfare, the erosion of logical thinking weakens discernment, making hearts and minds more susceptible to lies.

Reintroducing logic into culture is therefore far more than education. It is evangelization. Teaching people to reason soundly, spot fallacies, and pursue coherent arguments honors the divine Logos and equips them to engage the world as image bearers of a rational God. Initiatives to revive logic in schools, public discourse, and personal habits are not just about clearer thinking. They are acts of restoration, aligning minds with the Creator’s order and advancing His kingdom amid the encroaching fog of unreason. In a polarized, post-logic age hurtling toward Idiocracy like space debris into the sun, promoting logic is doing God’s work. It illuminates truth, fosters genuine dialogue, and resists the forces that seek to dumb down and divide what He designed to reflect His coherent glory.

Enter Logic Slap

A year ago I started a blog called Apostoic to combat this decline in the culture, to promote logic and rational thinking, to point toward the divine, and to engage with rational wisdom the social and moral bankruptcy pervading our society. Then, in the autumn of 2025, the idea for an app that both teaches logic, is fun to use, and more importantly shines a bright searchlight on the wiles of the enemy, came to me. As most of my article ideas, it installed itself in my sleep. I popped out of bed at 4 a.m. with the idea nearly fully formed in my mind. Immediately, I set to work developing this app. Four months later, it is in testing for full release.

The credit can go to one of the greatest thinkers and authors to grace the earth. C.S. Lewis bewailed the disappearance of logic, but more so, he emphasized that it is an intentional tactic of the enemy to ensure that this disappearance takes place. But there was a second piece of C.S. Lewis’ mind wrapped up in this idea. He posited that we have many weapons against the Devil. We have prayer, continuous engagement with the Word of God, church and family communities to hold us accountable and resist sin. But there is one tool that that the Devil truly cannot abide, a weapon that he cannot stand up to. Mockery. Satan’s first and greatest sin is pride. He cannot abide being made to look the fool, and making fun of him and his methods is sure to send him and his temptations packing. Mockery is his kryptonite. Logic Slap has two purposes.

1. To teach logical fallacies in a fun, lighthearted, and social manner.
2. To mock the work of the enemy: the anti-Logos ideas permeating our society.

What is Logic Slap?
Logic Slap is first and foremost a meme weapon. It will teach academic logic taxonomy to users, but that is not its primary purpose. Rather, it is meant to be used to poke fun at the terrible arguments pervading our society. To use it as intended, an individual engaged in conversations online might enter the main points of an opponent’s argument.

This done, hitting the “Analyze Logic” button will prompt Logic Slap to analyze the argument for academic logical fallacies. It will return a verdict card detailing exactly which fallacies are present, give a short description of each, and deliver a comical, PG-rated burn that is different every time: a “Logic Slap.”

Each verdict card contains:

  1. A counter showing how many times Logic Slap has been used. This is just for fun. One day it might read “1M Logic Slap’t.”
  2. An indication of where others can get Logic Slap and use it themselves. Thus, with some built up user base, the product will provide its own advertising.
  3. A callback to my blog (Apostoic.com), which contains far greater truth, light, and gospel.

If the insult hits your funny bone, and you like the presentation, hit the “copy image” button and the verdict card will be copied to your clipboard on any device. It is simple, intuitive, and does not require multiple share buttons for multiple social media apps.

From your clipboard, it can be pasted (CTRL + V) to the social media of your choice, either in your own post, or in any comment section or thread that allows images.

Facebook disclaimer:
It should be noted that Facebook threads have settings that allow or prohibit images in the comments. It can be a frustrating experience when you really want to deliver a Logic Slap, but images are not allowed in the thread you are replying to. This is up to the owner of that thread, and a Logic Slap image will not post into the thread in that case. You’ll just have to quote the original poster and Logic Slap them on your own timeline.

Another frustration with Facebook is that comment sections (replies to original posts) often will not allow a simple paste of an image. In these instances, screenshotting the verdict and then uploading it with the Facebook post upload button is the only workaround.

Simply pasting the image works like a charm in every other social media app that has been tested.

What if I don’t like the insult?
If the insult does not hit your funny bone, you can keep the argument intact and simply retrieve a different one. Click on the “Get a Different Insult” button.

A new insult will be retrieved without needing to retype your syllogism.

How does Logic Slap analyze the syllogism?
The Logic Slap AI is programmed to analyze the logical structure of the argument. It will not fact-check the premises. This is an intentional design choice, to avoid AI inserting its own opinions into verdicts based on large language model data collection.

For example: Santa Clause is not real, and a great deal of data exists demonstrating that. If someone creates a syllogism featuring Santa Clause, the AI will not trigger fallacies on the basis that Santa is not real. Users must be free to present theoretical or hypothetical arguments. As another example, if this premise is entered: “Bob went to the store yesterday,” Logic Slap will not try to search the internet for evidence that Bob actually bought bananas.

Thus, the prompt behind the scenes is not a simple one. It is a rigorous code, setting strict rules, priorities, and order of checks.

Only 4 of these checks are permitted to Logic Slap on premises.

1. Hasty generalization, I.E. “All birds can fly”

2. Statements of “x is y” where the words are not synonyms. I.E. “Silence is violence” (Nominal Conquest Fallacy)

3. Blatant Ad Hominem attacks (Politician X is a crook, you are stupid) 4. Instances of Begging the Question (Conclusion is the same as, or synonymous with, a premise), Appeal to Emotion or Authority, and other premise-based fallacies.

While Logic Slap is not meant to fact-check, these four special rules are necessary. Otherwise, an argument such as the one below would return a valid verdict.

Bob is a bald man.
Bald men are criminals.
Therefore, Bob is a criminal.

With its back-end script of rigorous rules in place, Logic Slap will identify an illogical argument and the fallacies contained with a high degree of accuracy. If you think it’s wrong, it’s probably you bud! It will produce a compliment in the event of a valid argument, and in the event of fallacies, it will give a light-hearted insult that induces giggles, not outrage.

Other fun features:

There are currently two additional fun features of Logic Slap, but more are coming as I continue to brainstorm and build.
1. The “Submit Insults” feature. Users can submit their own funny insults to be added to the Logic Slap pool. These insults will be vetted for appropriateness and then added to the list of “slaps” the app may return as a verdict. The submitter will be credited either with “*User submitted insult” or “*Insult submitted by Bob Jones” depending on whether it was submitted anonymously.
The same is true for compliments, if the argument is logically valid.

2. The “Slap of the Week” gallery. Users may take screenshots of the Logic Slap they delivered, together with the comment they were replying to, to a weekly gallery. All users can then vote on which Logic Slap was the funniest or best. The three most voted slaps will be sent out via optional email for anyone who wishes to sign up. Submitting slaps is a subscriber-only feature at this time, to add value to subscription. All users can vote.

How is Logic Slap monetized?

Monetizing the app is a necessity. It cost money to develop, will require maintenance costs, and requires AI prompts at a fraction of a cent per use. With wide-spread usage, the app will bankrupt me if offered for free. Thus, a very inexpensive set of pricing options is required.

Free tier:
Users may generate 3 verdict cards per day completely free, and share them to social media. When those three are used up, they will be prompted to watch an ad to unlock more.
I hate ads. You hate them too. But this must be done. In this manner Logic Slap will pay for itself even if zero users subscribe.
The free tier will also feature static adds placed in non-obtrusive locations around the Logic Slap Interface. Any subscription level will eliminate these for the user.

Monthly Subscription:
Users can unlock unlimited slaps for only $1.99 per month.
This low price is sufficient for the user to pay for his own usage of the AI prompting within Logic Slap, and generate a decent profit margin for further development of features and an advertising budget. It also puts food on my family’s table!
Provides unlimited slaps, an ad-free experience, and participation in the Slap of the Week gallery.

Yearly Subscription:
Users can get an discount with an annual subscription of $19.99.
Provides unlimited slaps, an ad-free experience, participation in the Slap of the Week gallery, and priority support.

One-Time Purchase:
Users can get lifetime subscription for just $39.99. This will help to front-load some cash flow for Logic Slap, providing an advertising budget and resources for more rapid development of new features.
Provides unlimited slaps, an ad-free experience, participation in the Slap of the Week gallery, and top-priority support.

Sponsorships
There are several options currently available for companies in the brain-development or self-improvement space (or any other space that makes sense!) to partner with Logic Slap, get their own branding integrated with Logic Slap verdict cards, etc. These are detailed on the “Sponsor” page within the app itself, and I will not repeat them here.

Where can I get Logic Slap?
There are currently two points of access.

1. Google Play Store (Currently in private beta testing, public release coming soon)

2.
https://logic-slap.replit.app – This link for the web-based version. It can be used on any computer, PC or Mac. It will also work in the web-browser on an Apple phone.

An iPhone version of the standalone app is still in production, and will be released on the Apple Store in the future.

Future features:

I have many ideas for additional features to be added to the paid tiers of the app, adding value to the subscription and incentivizing users to stick around. These include, but are not limited to:
– Logic Lessons: More in-depth explanation and teaching of each logical fallacy. Probably, it will include some varieties of games, puzzles, and flash-cards.
– Game-ified quizzes: Users will be able to progress upward through a series of quizzes and unlock badges. These badges may even be added to their personal instances of Logic Slap verdict cards.
– Merchandise that is sold through a tab on the app, and is winnable through the Slap of The Week Gallery.
– And more!

Conclusion

Join the Slap Heard ‘Round the Kingdom. In a world unraveling at the seams, where chaos masquerades as progress, lies parade as compassion, and prideful folly reigns supreme, Logic Slap is no mere app. It is a small but sharp instrument in the hands of the faithful, forged to honor the Logos who spoke creation into ordered existence and to resist the great Unraveller who delights in confusion and division.

By teaching the simple discipline of sound reasoning while delivering a well-aimed, laughter-laced rebuke to illogical nonsense, we reclaim ground that the enemy has long claimed as his own. As C.S. Lewis understood, and as voices from Luther to Thomas Moore echoed before him, pride is the devil’s Achilles’ heel and mockery is the arrow that pierces it. When we expose the absurdity of fallacious arguments with a grin rather than a grimace, we strip away the false dignity of deception. We make the pompous look petty, the convoluted look comical, and the destructive look downright foolish. In that moment of holy humor, the darkness recoils.

This is not frivolous play. It is spiritual warfare waged with wit. Every Logic Slap shared is a tiny act of restoration: restoring reason where emotion has run rampant, restoring dialogue where tribal shouting has taken over, restoring the divine fingerprint of logic on minds grown dim. It is being salt that preserves what is good and light that exposes what is hidden in shadows (Matthew 5:13–16). It is refusing to let the post-logic fog settle over conversations that shape culture, policy, families, and souls.

Friends, entrepreneurs, fellow kingdom-builders: the full release is near, and the mission is urgent. Download Logic Slap today on Android, the web, soon on iOS. Use your free slaps generously. Upgrade to unlimited for the ad-free fight and to fuel ongoing development. Share verdict cards boldly in threads, posts, and debates. Submit your sharpest burns. Vote in the Slap of the Week. Sponsor if your business aligns with sharpening minds. Reach out to me if you see the long game and are interested in helping with a tool that can go viral, equipping thousands (then millions) to think clearly, laugh at lies, and point others toward the ultimate Truth.

This goofy little app is a beachhead in the culture war, a meme-sized missile aimed at the enemy’s most vulnerable flank. Let’s fire it together. Let’s slap folly out of fashion. Let’s mock the mockers of divine order until the laughter echoes into eternity. For the glory of the Logos, for the defeat of deception, and for the coming of His kingdom, logic slap awaits your alliance. Will you answer the call?

The battle for clear thinking is the battle for clear seeing. Join me. The kingdom advances one reasoned, ridiculous, redemptive slap at a time.
